The Daily Hustler Huddle is a morning mental-health-and-productivity tracker Taha's company Yap runs every day. Each person answers a short set of prompts: how they feel in one word, what they're grateful for, a business/personal/recognition high, whether they hit yesterday's goals, three-to-five work goals for today, three health-and-relationship goals, and a closing word. It takes under 15 minutes. Done solo it keeps you accountable; done with co-founders or a team at a set time it doubles as a gratitude practice and alignment check that leaves everyone feeling better and ready to go.
Origin
Taha and her team invented the Hustler Huddle at Yap Media as their daily ritual, running it with her business partners Jason and Kate at 8:30am and a shortened version later with the marketing and sales team.
Core principles
- 01Starting the day by naming your feeling and gratitude sets a positive baseline.
- 02Reviewing yesterday's goals before setting today's keeps you accountable.
- 03Goals must cover health and relationships, not just work.
- 04Done with a team, the ritual keeps everyone aligned and surfaces how each person is feeling.
How to run it
- 1
Open with feeling and gratitude
Write your one-word opening mood and what you're grateful for today.
- 2
Name your highs and a recognition
Note a business high, personal high, and someone you want to recognize today.
- 3
Review yesterday
Ask whether you hit yesterday's goals and reorganize today if you didn't.
- 4
Set today's goals and close
Write 3-5 work goals and 3 health-and-relationship goals, then a one-word closing feeling.
Pro tip Do it with your team at a fixed time to keep everyone aligned and connected.
In the wild
Taha, Jason, and Kate run the huddle together every morning at 8:30, sharing feelings, gratitude, and goals before splitting into work.
→ The team stays aligned, understands each other's daily state, and everyone finishes the ritual feeling better and ready to work.
Common mistakes
Omitting health and relationship goals
Setting only work goals reinforces the founder habit of deprioritizing personal wellbeing.
Skipping the yesterday review
Without checking prior goals there's no accountability loop, so today's goals drift.
Is it for you?
Best for
Founders and small teams wanting a lightweight daily alignment and wellbeing ritual.
Not ideal for
People who find structured journaling prompts draining or who need deep-work time protected first thing.
