MOVE is Samit's acronym for launching an initiative: Mindset, Obstacle, Void, and Execution. Begin with the belief that your capability and route can change; otherwise setbacks stop the process before evidence arrives. Next, specify the obstacle being solved in the customer's terms. Examine the market around that obstacle to find a void—an urgent need that existing offers do not adequately serve. Shape the smallest credible offer around that gap, then execute a real test with a customer rather than continuing to theorize. Measure whether the test solved the obstacle and created value, and feed the evidence back into the next cycle. The framework is deliberately simple: it links internal readiness to external demand and finishes with action, preventing an idea from remaining motivational abstraction.

Origin

Samit introduces MOVE during the interview as his acronym for launching anything and connects it to Vin Clancy's week-by-week journey in Future Proofing You.

Core principles

  • 01Action begins with a changeable mindset
  • 02Businesses start with problems, not products
  • 03A void creates room to differentiate
  • 04Execution converts insight into evidence

How to run it

  1. 1

    Mindset

Treat yourself and the plan as adaptable so that feedback can change the route without ending the goal.

Pro tip State what you are willing to learn or change.

  2. 2

    Obstacle

Define the concrete customer problem or blocked outcome that makes action worthwhile.

Pro tip Describe the obstacle without naming your preferred product.

  3. 3

    Void

Identify what current alternatives fail to provide and why the gap matters now.

Pro tip Interview or observe potential buyers before claiming a void.

Watch out Absence of competitors can also mean absence of demand.

  4. 4

    Execution

Deliver the smallest credible solution to a real user and collect evidence about the result.

Pro tip Set the success signal before the test.

Watch out Do not confuse planning, branding, or tooling with execution.

  5. 5

    Move again

Use the evidence to improve the obstacle definition, positioning, or delivery and run the next test.

In the wild

A specialized agency launch

A social-media marketer adopts the belief that he can compete, identifies the obstacle of fast ICO launches, finds a void for launch-specific marketing, and executes for one client. The first result becomes evidence for the next sales cycle.

The sequence produces a differentiated, evidence-backed agency offer.

Common mistakes

Starting with execution only

Shipping an offer before defining the obstacle and void often creates activity without buyer relevance.

Calling an assumption a void

Confirm the gap through buyer behavior or a real test instead of relying on novelty alone.

Is it for you?

Best for

First-time founders and service businesses that need a compact launch roadmap.

Not ideal for

Capital-intensive or regulated ventures that require substantial validation, licensing, or safety work before execution.
